The weather has been pretty hot lately - typical build-up weather. I hope it will rain soon.

I have been getting up at 5.30am to water trees because the rains haven't come yet. Today is going to be a scorcher!

Luckily the studio is cool and pleasant to work in. I have been very busy with the Christmas rush, with Hardtofind orders and work for the local outlets. I will have to start thinking about more installation pieces for next year. I liked how the slip cast owls worked together and would like to continue with the multiple piece/installation work further.

I had fun helping Sarah and James film the 'Hillbilly Goats' music film clip up at Herberton Historical Village. I really enjoyed being the 'runner', holding the reflector, taking incidental photos, being the general dogsbody. It was interesting to see how all those small snippets join up to make a harmonious whole. See the clip here:
The Village was fantastic too. The new owners have done a brilliant job making it an interesting place to explore, a vast improvement to how it was a couple of years ago. Certainly comparable to Sovereign Hill in Victoria.

Brown duck has hatched out four very cute little ducklings,  and we have to look after an orphan chick which got attacked by something and walks around in circles. I have tried to smuggle it under the mother hen who only has one chick, but she rejected it. I put it in the cage with brown duck and her babies, but it was able to escape where it is a sitting chick for the grey kestrel who just loves a chicken for morning tea! So poor chicken little is unloved.

Hopefully this heat will bring on the rain!
